Deanna Jent

Deanna is a Professor of Theatre at Fontbonne University, where she has been teaching and directing shows since the fall of 1995. She holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from Northwestern University.

She is a playwright, a former theatre critic (for The Riverfront Times) and has directed at many of the professional theatres in St. Louis. She has been nominated five times for the Kevin Kline “Best Director” award.

One of the productions she directed (Standing on My Knees) won the Kline award for Best Production of 2007, and two productions she directed (Going to See the Elephant and Women’s Minyan) won the Kline awards for Best Ensemble.
