Future Engineers Now Have New Opportunity at Fontbonne

Students at Fontbonne University have yet another academic opportunity, this time, through Fontbonne and the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Students in any major at Fontbonne now have the opportunity to earn a dual degree in engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Although a similar program already exists at Fontbonne through Washington University in St. Louis, this new agreement will allow for more choice and flexibility for Fontbonne students.

Students can follow a 3-2 or 4-2 plan, attending Fontbonne through their junior or senior years, then entering the engineering program at the School of Computing and Engineering at University of Missouri-Kansas City. Once they’ve successfully completed the degree requirements at both schools, they’ll have earned bachelors’ degrees from both Fontbonne and the University of Missouri. They’ll also have an option of earning a graduate degree in engineering.

“Fontbonne University has had a great partnership with the engineering department at Washington University in St. Louis, and we hope to continue this relationship,” said Kay Graves, an instructor in Fontbonne’s department of mathematics and computer science. “Now, with University of Missouri-Kansas City's partnership, our students will have a choice of two wonderful schools and what type of engineering degree they wish to pursue.”
