Area Eighth Graders Visit Fontbonne

The eighth grade class from Marian Middle School was introduced to the exciting and enriching culture of college life during a recent visit to Fontbonne University.

Students from the south St. Louis all-girls school toured the campus, visited classes, ate lunch in the student center cafe´ and talked with Fontbonne students, faculty and staff.

"It was a great experience for the girls to get a sneak peek of what college is like," said Maureen Herrmann, director of Marian Middle School. "This is a good way for them to further identify and strive for academic achievement."

Founded in 1999 by eight religious orders of women, Marian Middle School seeks to educate economically disadvantaged and underserved students.
