Fontbonne to Hold Institute for Local Educators

As a service to educators and professionals serving children and youth throughout the region, Fontbonne University is sponsoring a unique and comprehensive institute, "Behaving to Learn:  Learning to Behave," March 23-24. This event is a great opportunity for educators to join their colleagues in exploring the relationship between learning and behavior. The institute is open to educators and other professionals throughout Missouri and the metro east. It will be held at Fontbonne University. The cost is $160 per person and $130 for Fontbonne graduate students and alumni. Graduate course credit is available for an additional cost.

"The topics and sessions promote a professional learning community among teachers, counselors, therapist and school leaders who are committed to building school-wide systems of support to enhance students' performances," said Dr. Gale Rice, co-director of Fontbonne's Center for Teacher and Therapist Education.

Presenters will include international experts, school leaders and practitioners from local schools. In addition to the featured speakers, local experts will facilitate breakout sessions focused on best professional practices to develop environments that encourage productive learning and behavior for all along with understanding and supporting success of children who are the most challenging.
