Men's lacrosse tabbed to finish second in its new conference

Dec. 21, 2009 - The Fontbonne University men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish second in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference according to the preseason coaches poll. The Griffins were picked behind Adrian College.

This is the inaugural season for the Midwest Lacrosse Conference and its seven members. The other participants include Adrian College, Albion College, Carthage College, Mount St. Joseph College, Trine University, and Milwaukee School of Engineering. Here is the entire MLC pre-season coaches poll:

Three Fontbonne players have been selected to the preseason all-conference team. Senior attack Brooks McGee, senior midfielder Ray Medalla and senior defenseman Blair Turley were tabbed as preseason all-conference honorees. McGee led the team last year in points with 15 goals and 23 assists. He currently is the Griffins' all-time leading scorer. Medall led Fontbonne with 16 goals last season while adding two assists. McGee and Medalla are both out of Spring, Texas. Turley, a native of Carlsbad, California; has been a three-year starter for the Griffins defense.
