Fontbonne/KMOX Book Club Visits Cahokia Mounds

ST. LOUIS – The Fontbonne University/KMOX Book Club will talk to William Iseminger, author of “Cahokia Mounds: America’s First City,” during the April book club event. The book club will take place Friday, April 30, at 1 p.m. at Cahokia Mounds, located in Collinsville, Ill., just 15 minutes east of St. Louis off Interstates 55/70 and 255.

The event is free, but reservations are required. Call 314-444-1827 or e-mail cwbrennan@cbs.com, leave a name and phone number, and reference the “April” book club to reserve a spot today.

Iseminger serves as the assistant site manager of Cahokia Mounds. The site is one of the most sophisticated prehistoric native civilizations north of Mexico, and has been named a World Heritage site by the National Park Service. Iseminger’s book describes the place, the people and the ancient culture of Cahokia Mounds.
