Fontbonne Welcomes “Jim the Boy” Author Tony Earley

 
ST. LOUIS – The Fontbonne University Writer’s Reading Series welcomes Tony Earley, author of “Jim the Boy” and “The Blue Star,” Thursday, March 3, at 8 p.m. in the Lewis Room of the Taylor Library on the university’s Clayton campus. Earley will also speak Friday, March 4, at noon in the board room of the Taylor Library. Both events are free and open to the public. **

Now the Samuel Milton Fleming Associate Professor of English at Vanderbilt University, Earley has written four books, including “Jim the Boy,” his debut novel. In 1996, Granta magazine named him one of the Best Young American Novelists, and in 1999, The New Yorker named him one of the best young writers in America. His writing has also appeared in Harper’s, Esquire and the New Yorker, among others.

The Writer’s Reading Series is presented through the generous support of the Fontbonne Community Connection.

**Parking is available on any lot on Fontbonne’s Clayton campus, 6800 Wydown Blvd. Two hour parking is available on Wydown Blvd. to the north of the Taylor Library. Alternative parking can be found at the former CBC high school on Clayton Rd. with a shuttle running every 15 minutes to and from Fontbonne University.
