NYT Sports Columnist to Speak on New Book, Stan Musial

ST. LOUIS – The Fontbonne University/KMOX Book Club will host George Vecsey, New York Times sports columnist and author of “Stan Musial: An American Life,” at its next book club event. The event will take place Wednesday, May 11, from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Missouri Athletic Club, 405 Washington Ave., downtown St. Louis.

George Vecsey is a sports columnist for the New York Times, an author and an editor. His latest book, “Stan Musial,” is a portrait of the twenty-time all-star and St. Louis Cardinal. He tells Musial’s story through the remembrances of those who played beside, worked with, and covered “Stan the Man” over the course of his nearly seventy years in the national spotlight.

Upcoming Events: The June book club event will take place Monday, June 13, from 9 – 11 a.m. Guests include Jennifer Griffin, national security correspondent for FOX news, and Greg Myre, a senior editor at National Public Radio’s “Morning Edition.” Griffin and Myre are authors of “This Burning Land: Lessons from the Front Lines of the Transformed Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.” More information to come.
