Soccer Teams Advance to SLIAC Tournament

ST. LOUIS — The Fontbonne University men’s and women’s soccer teams have qualified for the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament to be held later this week. This is the eighth straight year the men’s team has advanced to the SLIAC Tournament and the fourth straight year for the women.
 
The Griffins’ men’s soccer team (11-5-2 overall; 6-1-1 in the SLIAC) earned the #2 seed and will play #3 seed Greenville College, Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. at Centene Stadium in Clayton. The other SLIAC Tournament semifinal will feature #1 seed Westminster College hosting #4 Webster University. The SLIAC Tournament men’s final will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, at a site and time to be determined.
 
The Griffins’ women’s soccer team earned the #4 seed and will play at #1 Principia College Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7 p.m. The other SLIAC semifinal will feature #2 seed Webster University hosting #3 Greenville College. The SLIAC Tournament women’s final will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, at a site and time to be determined.
 
Admission to the SLIAC Tournaments is $5 for adults and $2 for students of participating schools. The Fontbonne athletic department will cover the costs of any student who attends either game and shows a valid Fontbonne ID. A shuttle will run from the DSAC to Centene Stadium from 7 – 10:30 p.m. for those Fontbonne students interested in transportation.
