Fontbonne Spreads the Christmas Spirit

The Fontbonne University community came together this holiday season to support the children of Joplin, Mo., affected by the May 22 tornado.

Faculty, staff, students and alumni donated a total of 307 board and Wii games to the cause. Games were collected at Christmas Around Campus, as well as at the staff and faculty holiday party.

Donations were accepted through Tuesday, Dec. 20 and will be delivered on Jan. 8 when FISH (Fontbonne In Service and Humility) travels to Joplin to join the Joplin First Church of the Nazarene in their work with local organizations for tornado relief.

The project exemplified the mission of Fontbonne’s founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, to “serve the dear neighbor.”
