Fontbonne Theatre Opens “A Piece of My Heart”

Six strong women survive the Vietnam War in Fontbonne University’s upcoming performance March 8-11. Written by Shirley Lauro and directed by Deanna Jent and Patricia Duffin, “A Piece of My Heart” tells the very emotional story of six women who served as nurses, USO girls and Red Cross workers during the Vietnam War. It follows them from their recruitment through their return back home, and it explores their struggles to adapt to their new reality.

A student theatre production, “A Piece of My Heart” opens Thursday, March 8, and runs through Sunday, March 11, with shows at 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. All shows are performed at the Black Box Theatre located in the Fine Arts Building at Fonbonne University. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for general, and free for Fonbonne University Students.

Some dramatic situations may not be suitable for children.
