Fontbonne Hosts Academic Symposium on Catholic Social Thought

An academic symposium, hosted by the office of mission integration and the CSJ Endowed Chair of Catholic Thought, will be held on the campus of Fontbonne University, Thursday, April 12, beginning at 3 p.m. The topic, “Human Development, Economy and the Common Good: Engaging Benedict XVI’s ‘Charity in Truth,’” will discuss and examine the most recent document on Catholic Social Thought published by the Catholic Church. The event is free and open to the public, but organizers request an RSVP.

The event will open with panel discussions at 3 and 4:30 p.m., followed by a complimentary reception at 6 p.m.and a 7 p.m. keynote address by Dr. Gregory Beabout, author and professor of philosophy at Saint Louis University. Beabout will discuss “The Profile of the Manager in ‘Caritas in Veritate:’ From Office Executive to Wise Steward.” Panelists and respondents include Fontbonne faculty and students.
