Mustard Seed Big Winner at Theater Circle Awards

Mustard Seed Theatre, Fontbonne University’s theatre-in-residence, took home six awards — the most for any theatre company — at this week’s St. Louis Theater Circle Awards. Five went to Mustard Seed’s production of “All Is Calm,” an acapella musical based on the true story of the Christmas truce in the midst of World War I in 1914. These included awards for Outstanding Production, Outstanding Director (Deanna Jent, professor), Outstanding Ensemble, Outstanding Lighting Design (Michael Sullivan, associate professor) and Outstanding Musical Director (Joe Schoen). The sixth was an award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama, which went to Sara Godefroid Cannon for her performance of the title role in “Jane Eyre.”

Previously known as the Kevin Kline Awards, the St. Louis Theater Circle Awards take place annually and recognize outstanding theater in the St. Louis area.

Mustard Seed Theatre just released its 2014-2015 season. "All Is Calm" will be reprised November - December of 2014.
