Serving the Dear Griffin

Fontbonne University, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, strives to educate students to serve the dear neighbor in need.  Each year the Fontbonne Staff Association embodies this mission by organizing a service opportunity.  FSA has done a variety of collections to meet a variety of needs, however, it was decided we do not need to look further than our own campus to find members of our community who are in a crisis situation and need immedate assistance.

A crisis situation is an event beyond a person's control,  such as but not limited to crime victims, death of a loved one, serious illnesses, house fires, tornadoes, loss of income or resources due to these events, or any sudden event that requires assistance. The Serving the Dear Griffin committee, which consists of faculty and staff, will only consider meeting needs that cannot be met by another external agency.  In this spirit and with the support of the Faculty General Assembly, Serving the Dear Griffin was established.

There are two ways you can assist Serving the Dear Griffin

  • Nomimate a student, staff, or faculty member who is in a crisis situation to the anonymous selection committee. You can do this by completing the online form or downloading the form below and submitting it in a sealed envelope to the Campus Ministry mailbox.

  • Help provide funds for this program by giving your own tax-deductible gift. We are only able to meet the needs presented through your assistance.  You can make your gift through the Office of Institutional Advancement.
