The 2012 Fontbonne University women's soccer team was awarded the 2012 NSCAA Silver Team Ethics Award. To be eligible to receive this award, a team must have received zero red cards and no more than five yellow cards throughout the season.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.

This award is in line with the Fontbonne and St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conferece (SLIAC) sportsmanship policies. Fontbonne was the only team in the SLIAC to receive this recognition. Congratulations Griffins!!!

The Team Ethics Award is divided into the following three categories:

Gold: No cards accumulated during the season
Silver: No red cards and no more than five yellow cards accumulated during the season
