Honorary Degree

The following honorary degree was presented to Ms. Kerri Morgan during the 2013 Fontbonne University commencement ceremonies.

FONTBONNE UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES ITS CATHOLIC IDENTITY AND HERITAGE WITH PRIDE AND COMMITMENT.    

FAITHFUL TO ITS MISSION, THE UNIVERSITY SEEKS TO EDUCATE WOMEN AND MEN TO THINK CRITICALLY, DECIDE ETHICALLY AND SERVE RESPONSIBLY.   

IN PROMOTING THIS PHILOSOPHY, FONTBONNE RECOGNIZES INDIVIDUALS WHOSE LIVES GIVE EVIDENCE OF EMBRACING THE MISSION, VISION, VALUES, COMMITMENT AND CATHOLIC IDENTITY OF FONTBONNE UNIVERSITY.  

AS A PASSIONATE TEACHER AND DETERMINED ATHLETE, KERRI MORGAN SERVES THE WORLD, HER COMMUNITY AND HER FAITH BY CREATING A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL OF GOD’S PEOPLE. AS A PARTICIPANT IN THE 2008 BEIJING PARALYMPICS AND A MEDALIST IN THE 2012 LONDON PARALYMPICS, MS. MORGAN HAS MOTIVATED ATHLETES OF ALL ABILITIES. AS AN EDUCATOR AND PH.D. CANDIDATE, SHE IS A ROLE MODEL FOR HER STUDENTS AND A LEADER AMONG HER COLLEAGUES. HER DEDICATION, PERSERVERANCE AND DETERMINIATION IN ALL THINGS ACADEMIC AND ATHLETIC HAVE INSPIRED THE ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY AS WELL AS THE NATION AND THE WORLD.

SHE HAS ACCOMPLISHED THIS WITH WISDOM, PASSION AND GRACE.  IN THE MESSAGE SHE BRINGS TO OTHERS, MS. MORGAN EXEMPLIFIES THE TYPE OF LEADERSHIP TO WHICH FONTBONNE GRADUATES ASPIRE.  IN RECOGNITION OF HER ACHIEVEMENTS, THE PRESIDENT AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF FONTBONNE UNIVERSITY CONFER UPON
