Students and Faculty:
Area flooding, particularly along the Meramec River, continues to create difficulties for commuters along several major roadways. In addition to closures of sections of I-44 and highways 141, 30, and 21, there is a possibility that I-55 near Telegraph and Lemay Ferry roads will be closed this evening. Final exams will proceed as scheduled this week, and we ask students to plan ahead for longer than usual commuting times and faculty to be attentive to difficulties students may have getting to campus.
Students who may be affected by road closures and related traffic, please:
- Plan alternate driving routes in advance and allow plenty of extra time. Check the MODoT road closures map online and local news outlets for the most up-to-date information.
- Communicate directly with your instructors if you anticipate having difficulty making it to your final exam period on time. If you miss an exam or other deadline due to the flooding, contact your instructor immediately.
Above all, please be safe and do not take unnecessary risks driving in flooded areas.
Best wishes,
Dr. Carey Adams
