Admission decisions at Fontbonne University are based on your grades in high school. ACT/SAT scores are not required for admission or scholarships. TOEFL scores may be required for international applicants
We recommend that students in high school complete 4 years of coursework in English, and 3 years of coursework in math, science, social science, and electives. One year of visual/performing arts is also encouraged.
Minimum Automatic Admission
3.0+ GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) – you will be admitted
Holistic Admission
2.0-2.9 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) – your application will be holistically reviewed. Additional information may be requested.
You must earn a high school diploma before you can start classes at Fontbonne University. In lieu of a diploma, Fontbonne will honor a satisfactory score on the GED (General Education Development) exam or the HiSET exam.
GPA is based on a 4.0 scale. If your school reports weighted grades, we’ll convert to a 4.0 scale when we receive your transcript. Unofficial or official transcripts are accepted to make an admission decision. All accepted candidates currently enrolled in high school must successfully complete all work in progress. Upon graduation, and prior to July 15 for fall entry students, the final official transcript showing date of graduation must be submitted or the admission offer will be rescinded.
If you do not meet these requirements, please contact our staff. We want to get to know you and help support your success in college.

You’ve worked hard to prepare for college, including putting in the time and effort to succeed in college-level classes. Great news! We accept college credit (100 level or higher) and Advanced Placement credit (must receive a score of 3 or higher on the AP exam). Be sure to send us a transcript from the institution awarding your college credit and/or your scores from the College Board for AP credits so we can include it in evaluation for admission and registration for classes. Learn more about transferring credit to Fontbonne.
The university awards merit based scholarships to students who are admitted to the university. To be eligible, students must apply for full-time (12-18 credit hours), degree-seeking status. Fontbonne also encourages applicants to apply for financial aid consideration to help assist with the cost of attendance.
