Joining the Fontbonne Family is an experience like no other. Throughout all of our orientation activities, you will see why being a Griffin opens doors to a wide world of life-changing experiences.
Our orientation events are designed to welcome new students and their families to Fontbonne University. Built on Fontbonne’s unique value promise, orientation helps new students transition to the diverse academic, intellectual, and social culture of Fontbonne University.
We offer three main types of orientation: SOAR: Summer Orientation, FLY: Fall Orientation, and the Global Griffin Experience. Choose the tab below that best describes your relationship to Fontbonne to find out which orientation experiences apply to you. Welcome to Griffin Nation — we can’t wait to meet you!
As a first-time freshman, you will attend a single SOAR: Summer Orientation session of your choosing and FLY Fall Orientation.
SOAR Summer Orientation is a special one-day experience offered multiple times throughout the year. It is designed to provide you with all of the information you need to succeed as a student. FLY Fall Orientation takes place right before the start of the fall semester and is a three-day experience filled with exciting campus traditions and team-building activities. Both programs are required for all new students. All students pay a one-time fee as part of their tuition to cover all orientation meals, supplies, event costs, and travel.
As a transfer student, you will attend a special SOAR Summer Orientation session of your choosing. This program will be tailored to your unique experience as a transfer student and will give you an opportunity to learn about all of the support services available to you as a Fontbonne student. Attendance at a single SOAR session is required for all new transfer students.
The Global Griffin Experience is our orientation opportunity for international students. We can’t wait to welcome you to the United States, St. Louis, and Fontbonne! All new international students are required to attend.
