The Fontbonne Community Connection (FCC) announced its 12th yearly cycle of awards, which now has reached a grand total of $1 million. FCC, a unique women’s giving circle, provides financial support for academic hopes and dreams of Fontbonne faculty, staff and students for proposed projects, which are beyond current department budgets and which will directly benefit the University. Each year, submitted proposals are ranked by FCC members, with available funding going to the highest ranking proposals.
The awards were announced July 11, at the FCC Annual Meeting & Breakfast celebration on campus. Seventeen awarded projects include an online therapy program, spectrophotometers for biology/chemistry lab use, bioEYES science experience for 200 local middle school students, a highly accomplished visiting artist on campus, artisan-level wood shop equipment, campus ministry support, diversity and inclusion programs, an international film festival — even a new Fontbonne mascot costume to align with the new University logo — plus many other innovative and exciting projects.
