A marketing degree is one of the most versatile majors you can choose because it offers you a wide variety of career opportunities. From entrepreneurs and small business owners to the largest multinational corporations, nearly every organization relies on marketing as a key part of its strategy for success. At Fontbonne, you will be prepared to be a leader in the field, with an ethics-based curriculum that challenges you to excel.

The Bachelor of Science in Digital Marketing major will provide students with the skills necessary to live on the cutting edge of new digital marketing strategies. The curriculum was developed with input from multiple Fortune 500 companies to identify the key areas of expertise needed for students to be successful within marketing roles in the modern workforce. Primary areas of emphasis include SEO, analytics, and social media strategy, as well as courses in programming, which address the need for marketers to be able to scrape data and perform more complex marketing campaigns. Graduates of the program will be equipped with the analytical and critical thinking skills necessary to function in the marketing domain, as well as the ability to successfully build and run digital marketing initiatives.

More About This Field

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Marketing managers are among the most highly paid professionals in the modern workforce, with a median salary of $132,620. Furthermore, the number of Marketing manager roles is expected to grow 8% in the next 10 years, significantly faster than the national average.

Despite the strong career prospects of people with digital marketing skills, very few colleges offer robust programs in this area. Because of this, most colleges elect to offer traditional marketing curricula. While this is an excellent base for graduates, these curricula are normally excessively focused on theory, strategy, and the in-person retail experience, none of which are particularly important to companies looking for employees who can live on the cutting edge of new digital marketing strategies. Therefore, our major in Digital Marketing is intended to integrate with existing college business and marketing curricula to provide students with the most vital and in-demand skills in the area.
