One Health recognizes that human health, animal health, and environmental health are inextricably linked, and in order to solve local health problems, we must act and think in a global way, holistically working to address planetary health. The study of One Health is collaborative and interdisciplinary – as is this major. Students will take required courses in Biology and One Health as well as electives in other sciences; communication; and ethics, culture and policy. This major prepares students interested in any Health discipline for a wide-variety of human, animal, or environmental health professions.
