Fontbonne University’s Guide to Teacher Certification Reciprocity
Based on information from state department of education websites, Fontbonne has developed a guide to reciprocity with other states regarding teacher certification. Please note that this information is a guide only and is updated annually. The best procedure to determine reciprocity for teacher certification is to notify Fontbonne faculty or staff of a desire to seek teacher certification in a state other than Missouri. Fontbonne’s certification coordinator can then assist students in determining if Fontbonne’s curriculum and Missouri’s teacher certification requirements will meet teacher certification requirements in a home state or a destination state.
Fontbonne Education Certification programs meet the requirements for teacher certification in the state of Missouri. States make their own determination for teacher certification requirements, and those requirements change frequently. Therefore, rules and regulations for teacher certification vary by state. Other states are not required to notify Fontbonne of any changes, therefore we cannot guarantee that Fontbonne curriculum will meet teacher certification requirements in other states.
