Dr. Amy Szarkowski, a psychologist who specializes in working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families, will highlight the role of emotional socialization among deaf children. Informed by the literature in education, psychology, child and language development, and DHH outcomes, this presentation will provide participants with background and current research on the topic and offer ideas for implementable strategies for various professionals in school and community settings who support DHH children.
