In Mustard Seed Theatre’s latest production, “As It Is in Heaven,” the tranquility of women living in an 1830’s Shaker community in Kentucky is threatened by the arrival of newcomers claiming to see angels. A revival of spirituality sparks division among the nine characters who strive to live in peace and harmony.
The production includes Shaker songs and dance, and features Patrice Foster, Jennelle Gilreath, Alicia Like, Amy Loui, Laurie McConnell, Mary Schitzler, Christina Sittser, Leslie Wobbe and Amanda Wales. “As It Is in Heaven” also includes an all-female stage management team as well as female lighting, sound, prop and costume designers.
The production will be directed by Deanna Jent and will run Thursday, March 15 – Saturday, March 31, with performances at 8 p.m. Thursday – Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Thursday evening performances on March 22 and 29 are Pay With A Can/Pay What You Can performances. All performances are located at the Fontbonne University Fine Arts Theatre on the campus of Fontbonne University in Clayton.
